A MAN OF GOD NAMED EZRA

INTRODUCTION:
As we take a brief look at the life of Ezra this evening, let your heart be encouraged by this great truth.
IALMIGHTY GOD SOVEREIGNLY RULES ALL NATIONS AND MOVES THE HEARTS OF RULERS.Ezra 6:21-22; Proverbs 21:1.
IINOW, WHAT ABOUT THIS BRAVE, GODLY MAN, NAMED EZRA?
1. His personal resume and credentials. Ezra 7:1-5.
2. His diligence and learning. Ezra 7:10; Nehemiah 8.
a.He studied the word of God voraciously. Ezra 7:10
b.He lived the word of God faithfully. Ezra 9, 10.
c. He preached the word of God fearlessly. Read Nehemiah 8.
3. His seeking of God’s will and God protection. Ezra 8:21-23.
IIIA FEW IMPORTANT LESSONS FOR US.
1.Focus your life upon the word of God, to know it, to love it, and to do it. Psalm 119:103-105.
2.Resolve to place a higher value upon God’s favor upon our efforts to serve Him?
3.Be patient and wait upon the Lord for the fulfillment of his promises in His time.
4.Affirm in your heart to not give into despair when you see the decline of our nation.

Dr. Norm Anderson

Dr. Norman P. Anderson is married to his wife, Beverly, and has four children, eight grandchildren and one great grandchild. He has a Bachelor of Bible degree from Northwestern College, now Northwestern University in St. Paul, Minnesota; a Master of Divinity degree from Bethel Theological Seminary in Arden Hills, Minnesota; and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California.
